This policy explains what we do with your personal data when you visit CF Shop or buy from us. It is written to meet Costa Rica's Ley 8968 de Protección de la Persona frente al tratamiento de sus datos personales.

Who is responsible for your data

What we collect

What you give us

Name, email address, phone number and delivery address
What you ordered, and the payment method used — we never see or store your full card number
Anything you write to us: questions, photos of a damaged item, support requests

What is collected automatically

Device and browser information, including IP address
Which pages you visited and which products you looked at
Cookies needed to keep your cart and checkout working

Why we use it

To sell you the piece and get it to you — taking the order, importing it, agreeing a delivery day, and delivering it ourselves
To issue your factura electrónica, which Costa Rican tax law requires us to do
To answer you when you write to us, including damage and warranty claims
To keep records we are legally required to keep

We do not use your data for automated decisions about you, and we do not profile you.

Who else sees it

Your data reaches the following, and only for the purpose listed:

Shopify — the platform this store runs on. It holds your account, your order and your address, and sends your order emails. Shopify stores data outside Costa Rica.
TiloPay — our Costa Rican payment gateway, which processes your card. We never receive your full card details.
GTI — the electronic invoicing provider we use to issue your factura. This is where your name and identification number go when a factura is issued.
Antz Systems Engineering — the company that builds and operates this website for us. It has administrative access to the store and acts only on our instructions.
Government authorities — when the law requires it, principally the Ministerio de Hacienda for tax.

Nobody delivers for us. We bring your order to you ourselves, so your address is never given to a courier or delivery company.

We do not sell your data, and we do not share it for anyone else's marketing.

How long we keep it

Order records and facturas are kept for the period Costa Rican tax law requires. Everything else is kept only as long as we need it to answer you or to meet a legal obligation.

Your rights

Under Ley 8968 you can ask us to:

Show you the data we hold about you
Correct anything that is wrong
Delete data we no longer have a legal reason to keep
Stop using your data for a purpose you did not agree to

Write to suzett@designsbycf.com and we will answer within the period the law allows. If you are not satisfied, you can complain to the Agencia de Protección de Datos de los Habitantes (PRODHAB).

Cookies

We use cookies that are necessary for the cart and checkout to work. These cannot be turned off without breaking the store.

Keeping it safe

We limit who can reach the store's admin, and we use providers who encrypt data in transit. No system is perfectly secure, and we will tell you if a breach affects your data.
